Exoskeleton Fuel Cell

Postby Sabine Hauert on 29 Jan 2010, 10:06

One key challenge for exoskeletons is power autonomy. Current exoskeletons cannot be used for more than a few hours before assistance turns to heavy burden for their users when the batteries run out. In what may announce a major trend shift in the industry, the world's largest defense contractor, US company Lockheed Martin, has now just announced that they will work with Protonex Technology to upgrade their exoskeleton from Litium Ion Batteries to Fuel Cells, boosting autonomy to a full 72 hours.

Also have a look at Robot's exoskeleton review for more info on eight more exoskeletons.
