Swiss developers around Frederic Kaplan at the EPFL have designed an interactive disc jockey robot.
The QB1 interacts with people through gestures. It uses infrared lights and a camera to detect body movement and performs face recognition through 3D modeling. In return the robot's screen moves to look toward you, displaying a shadow of your movements and an intuitive interface.
The first version uses five different strategies to predict what music you want to listen to at the moment, intelligently building an increasingly complex model of your preferences.
