News from Panasonic's Robotics Unit

Following our recent reports on Panasonic's "Power Loader" exoskeleton and its construction of the world's first robotic bed, the Japanese electronics giant has now shown off more of its new robots at a demonstration at its robotics unit in Osaka, Japan.

The demonstration showed a robot that can assist with serving food and washing dishes as well as a porter robot that can pull heavy objects like medical carts for hospitals. Panasonic has declared a robotics sales goal of 100 billion yen, roughly 1.1 billion US dollars or 739 million Euros in 2015, which would correspond to a little over 1 percent of the company's 2008 sales.
