In time for the festive season, robot actors, dancers and performers around the world have prepared their own contributions. At the Motoman Robotics Lab at the University of Dayton, dancing robots have been secretly rehearsing a robot ballet performance to the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies".

Osaka University has hosted one of Japan's first human - robot theatre productions, with robots specially programmed to speak lines with human actors and move around the stage with them:

Finally, Taiwan's University of Science and Technology has announced a special robot performance of The Phantom of the Opera on December 27th, in which the two leads will be played by robots.

You might also be interested in the performance of the Ballet Mechanique, an automated robot orchestra, at the National Gallery of Art in Washington:

And if you liked that, there's also an earlier robot performance of a robot called Judy. :)
